Teen on scooter in critical condition after Jersey City crash with vehicle: police

A 17-year-old is in critical condition after he was involved in a crash with a motor vehicle while riding a scooter in the area of Route 440 and Danforth Avenue in Jersey City, authorities said.
The crash occurred Sunday at 12:39 p.m., Jersey City spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
The pedalcyclist received medical attention at the scene and was transported to a local hospital with apparent life-threatening injuries to his head, Wallace-Scalcione said.
The driver of the vehicle refused medical attention. The investigation is ongoing.
