Happy Teachers’ Day 2024: WhatsApp messages, quotes, images to share

Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5 each year across India. This day marks the birth anniversary of the first vice president and second president of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was known to be a distinguished scholar and a teacher. In 1954, he was awarded Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, and honorary membership of the British Royal Order of Merit in 1963.
Dr Radhakrishnan was visited by a few students on his birthday when he became the President of India in 1962. The students visited him to celebrate his birthday. He asked the students to dedicate the day to teachers. From that day onwards, September 5 was observed as Teachers’ Day in India.
